I had not been planning on making a year-end post, but here I am telling you my favorite books, and some 'to come' books

Hooray for Dandelion Fire!!
You might like a different Austen better than S&S ... it's kind of hard. Maybe Northanger Abbey? It's very fun, very tongue-in-cheek but sweet.
Happy new year to you, too! Have a fun party tonight.
I remember trying s&s this past year and not being able to get past the first paragraph... I was hoping I'd be able to read through it this year... Northanger Abbey sounds good too.
The new year has not even begun and I've already started making aditions to my list! :)
Oooh I have been wanting to read 100 Cupboards. Did you like it?! THanks for leaving me the link to your list! All of your books look like so much fun.(I've yet to read anything by Shannon Hale either.)
I really like 100 Cupboards, and I cannot wait until the next book, Dandelion Fire, comes out.
Another book by N.D. Wilson is Leepike Ridge... I liked that one too.
They are both fast paced, and full of adventure.
Thanks for coming by, Carrie!
I have The Princess Bride on my bookshelf and need to read it. I really enjoyed The Penderwicks, need to read the sequel.
You've got a great 2009 list already I loved P&P and S&S and really enjoyed The Little White Horse and Princess Academy. It's been years since I read Huck Finn, so I need to re-read that. The others I've not heard of... so I'll have to check them out. Happy New Year!
Hi Sarah! I really liked the Princess Bride, all in all, though you have to be able to understand the satire to get the story... The sequel of The Penderwicks, in my opinion, is just as good.
I have already started Huck Finn, and I think I like it. I like how MArk Twain wrote in the accent, but that makes it a little hard to understand at times...
Happy New Year!
I've only read 3 of the books on your 08 lise- 100 Cupboards, Mara, and Celia's House. Which of the others would you recommend the most?
The Invention of Hugo Cabret was very good, and so was The Princess Bride... actuall, they all were. It depends on what your looking for... a retelling, a love story, action, or a cozy little story...
Looking forward to hearing about some of those. :)
By the way, today I was horrified to see that that e-mail I had written in response to yours...had been sitting in my draft box since the end of November. Gak. :/ Expect it tomorrow!
I hope to finally read a Shannon Hale in 2009 too. Nice lists. I loved the movie The Princess Bride, I should really try the book.
You are the third blogger who has put Hugo Cabret on their list of favorites for 2008. I'm definitely moving this book up to the top of my pile.
Thanks!
Cuileann:
my draft box does that too. :)
Beth F:
I liked the movie as well, it was surprising close to the book. From what I could tell at least...
DebD:
Hugo Cabret was a VERY good book, written in a very unusual and interesting style. Hope you like it!
