New Books

I just got four books from the library today. I would be shaking with anticipation if I wasn't typing. I am very excited about reading them, but I can't.

I made a rule for myself a while ago- only two books at a time. This helps me keep the plots straight, and collect my thoughts about the book when I have finished it. Currently, I am reading two books, so I must wait until I have finished them to read 'The Lightning Thief', 'The Calder Game', 'The People of Sparks', and 'The Prophet of Yonwood'.

This can be good, though. 'Grendel' is a required read for school this year, not one I chose out of interest. Knowing that these four books are sitting on my dresser, waiting for me, may be just enough encouragement to finish it.

I'm off to find a cosy corner, there are several books waiting for me.

How is Gardner? He has book on writing fiction ... a real classic (that I have yet to read).

hmmm... he certainly has a way with words, Noel, and can cause you to feel for the monster, even when you don't want to; but the book could have done just as well without the language.

Thanks for stopping by Kathleen.

The into is quite inviting, isn't it? I was really eager to finish it, and now to start the rest of the series...

The City of Ember was so good! But I kind of forgot what it was about, so I'll have to read it again. And The Wright Three was an awesome book! It was so hard to put down!

Hi Christy, thanks for stopping by! I suggest reading all three of the ember books, the author has a fourth coming out and it would be good to know the 'background'. I will be starting the third very soon.

I also liked the Wright Three, but I'm having a hard time getting started on 'The Calder Game'...
